Catholic Identity and Ecumenism

OVERVIEW

                Facility in sensitively articulating one’s own beliefs, values, practices, and ecclesial identity; and skill in conversing, working, and praying with others from different church or faith traditions as they articulate their beliefs, values, practices and identity.

OBJECTIVES

Ecclesiology

1. Understanding of ecumenism, the effort to recover the unity of all Christians as the gift of Christ and call of the Holy Spirit.

Catholic Doctrine

            1. Understanding of the similarities and differences between the Catholic faith and other religions.

2. Ability to assist young people in developing relationships of understanding and respect with individuals of other faiths while remaining firm in their own Catholic identity.
